Tamara Kelly is a dedicated higher education professional with 24 years of experience in marketing/communications, external/corporate relations, teaching, event management, and writing/editing/research. She has an unwavering commitment to DEI, social justice initiatives, fostering relationships, and providing pathways to opportunity and access for those desirous of advancing themselves in myriad ways.

Presently, Tamara works for Pace University’s Lubin School of Business as the Director within the Office of Communications and External Relations. She also serves as an adjunct professor, teaching university community, business, and race and ethnicity courses. Throughout her tenure at Pace, she has also served as an advisor to various student organizations and as a mentor to students and staff.

With a deep and abiding passion for teaching and history, Tamara also teaches at John Jay College (City University of New York-CUNY) in the Africana Studies Department and lectures/presents on topics ranging from African Diaspora history, American history, sociology, diversity, enslavement and liberation throughout the Americas, and social movements in the United States. Further, she has taught English and education courses at other colleges within the CUNY system.

Aligned with her love of history, Tamara once worked for the firm that excavated the historic African Burial Ground and Five Points archeological sites located in Lower Manhattan (New York, NY). She frequently serves as a presenter, panelist, and moderator on topics ranging from Black history, pandemic-exacerbated disparities, wealth inequality, DEI, and women in the workplace. She holds a BA in English from Clark Atlanta University and an MS in Publishing from Pace University.
